Thus begins the month of June... Will it be a month of fog and lingering mist? There are times that i miss the electrical storms of the summers of my youth. The bright lightning flashes and the large tropical rain drops. Though i do think i protest too much!

06/04/14 0557 Wow! What a foggy morning today was... certainly pushed the limits of my eyes and the panorama stitching program. Of the five panos i shot, only one set was suitable for stitching together after i spent a good half hour visually assigning contact points for the program to align the different shots to. Well worth it though!
06/05/14 0558 Another day in the foggy San Francisco Bay. i know... looks just like the previous photo! However... it is actually a new set of photos!
06/06/14 0558 Happy National Donut Day! and hurrah for slightly less dense fog... but boy, cold cutting winds! It is a good thing i wear bike shorts under my kilt... as the hem of the kilt was around my chest the entire time i was shooting
06/09/14 0648 Monday, so the week begins. Another "Save the Air Day" here in the Bay. Temperatures in the 70s, and a general haze about the air. Mondays...
06/10/14 0549 The city was without fog this morning, but my hopes for a clear bay was quenched by the blanket that was wrapped around the Golden Gate Bridge approach from San Francisco. i had to take a few steps back so that i can capture enough collateral visible scenery for the panorama stitching program to align images and stitch the together. Apologies for a slightly inconsistent shot.

06/12/14 0549-0601 A reminder that SF is still an active (and oft busy) shipping hub. Caught a container containing ship sailing into the Golden Gate today... a series of shots over time... amazing how the light changes
06/13/14 0540-0611 A clear morning this... so i decided to play hooky and photograph from the shore batteries in the Marin Headland as well. Shocked by the density of parked cars on the drive up, though, thinking back, it would explain the myriad of person like shades i saw as i looked at the headland from the north vista point. The road up to Batter 129 was strangely still gated, so i took photos from a vista point just down the hill from it. On the way out, i noted an open parking spot at Battery Spencer and pulled in as highschool students streamed out from the old battery. Walking in, i felt like a salmon, swimming against the current. At Battery Spencer, a cluster of students still remain, as were some of their trash and a heavy scent of marijuana (medicinal i am sure)... ah... the youth... anyhow, here are the shots, in sequence:
06/16/14 0701 A clear bright Monday morning... a cruise ship (from Carnival Cruise Line i think) pulling into the Port of San Francisco...
06/17/14 0545-0559 Caught the sunrise this morning... and lots of shipping traffic it seems... today was a good day to shoot... almost didn't want to leave... ah well
06/18/14 0543
06/19/14 0538 Discovered that i was out of coffee this morning... the light of the morning pretty much jived with how awake i was
06/20/14 0535-0557 Another beautiful sunrise, with the skies an every changing kaleidoscope of colours. A group of Indian boys/men (i think they were speaking Hindi) were loudly taking photos of themselves/each other/San Francisco/Golden Gate Bridge this morning. Between the sounds of their loud laughter and various vocalizations of "damn it is freeze ass cold", i took my photos...
however, unhappy with the parts of the sky that i couldn't capture at 35mm, i took some panos at 18mm as well
06/23/14 0613 A foggy start to the week it seems! Though i must admit, i do love the fog... the all enveloping fog... makes setting control points on the pano-program a bit more... challenging though!
06/24/14 0605 Brilliant sunrise and a beautiful clear morning over the bay... wish my head was as clear... oh... the overindulgence of sake!
06/25/14 0539 - 0602 Beautiful fog covered city as it awakes to the rising sun... in the first few panos, you can notice a young couple (Chinese) sitting on the wall, looking out across the bay at SF... i am sure they thought i was crazy or a voyeur... sadly, they left before the sunrise. A part of me wanted to call out to them as they got into their car and started the engine, to let them know that, were they to stay another 10 minutes, they can enjoy the colors the sun paints across the bank of fog and a clear sky. But i didn't, they didn't look like they wanted to be interrupted.
