On the Si(x)th of May (come to the Dark Side... we have cookies and red light sabers!), i decided that, on every morning during my commute to work, i will take a panorama of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay whilst standing in front of the educational placard on "Geology" (of the Golden Gate) with my lens fixed at 35mm and all else left to the whimsy of the wee computer in my Nikon D60 DSLR. So, what follows are the panoramas that i have stitched together using Hugin (http://hugin.sourceforge.net/), a wonderful freeware.
It is actually a rather nice break in my morning commute, a good transition between the first travel mug of coffee and the second travel mug of coffee. Were i more sophisticated and learned, i might even venture to say that it is a place of momentary insight and reflection, but i am just a poor photographer and a photography whore, so nothing much passes my mind other than what i see through my view finder.
Anyhow, i hope you will find the photos somewhat appealing. To enlarge the wee photos, please mouse over and click.

But wait! There is more!! This week, we have friends staying over. Brother of Jenn's good friend Monika, Michal, and his wife, Annya (sp??). Last night, as we chatted over their day of Bay Area exploration, Michal revealed to me that they drove up to the Marin Headlands and visited the various WWII shore batteries and forts. So, this morning, being thus inspired and feeling nostalgic for not having visited in a long time, i traversed 101 after the morning Pano shoot and drove up to Batter 129 hoping to catch the sunrise. Here are the results:
