Jan 06, 2015: 0514 to 0525: Did i mention that the new 35mm lens is fast? A fact that is very much appreciated in the bitter cold as feeling is drained out of my uncovered fingers and my not inconsiderate bulk is swayed by the swirling, dervish like, winds as my legs are assaulted by various detritus left by inconsiderate visitors.
Jan 07, 2015: 0532 to 0541: Sixth consecutive "Spare the Air" day today... always worrying especially when, during the day, it looks like Beijing (granted, a very clear day in Beijing) outside my window... i've been putting off eating at Marin Joe's because of it (well known for their mesquite grilled meats... grand fathered in so they are allowed to cook, but i still feel bad)... sigh...

Jan 09, 2015: 0531 to 0535: Well, this weekend, Golden Gate Bridge to be closed for the installation of a concrete "zipper" barrier... hard to believe that the GG Bridge just had hand installed plastic columns (~ a foot tall) to divide the lanes for all this time eh? Accordingly, the vista point is crowded with news vans... the broadcaster is for a Spanish language station i believe
Jan 14, 2015: 0549 to 0601: A beautiful morning punctuated by two CalTrans/GG Bridge tow truck drivers loudly laughing about someone they knew in common... oh... and, if you were to believe in these things, UFOs over GG Bridge... then again, it could just be lens flare from a scratch on my UV filter that i am replacing 8) The second photo (0601) has the filter removed 8)
Jan 15, 2015: 0622: The return of the "Save the Air" day! sigh... what a winter weather season we have for 2104/15... but, the bay is still beautiful shrouded in haze!
Jan 16, 2015: 0532: Friday... a long time coming this week... tired... but still kicking 8)
Jan 19, 2015: 0536 to 0545: Foggy humid morning... well, for that matter, humid night last night also... i wonder if rain is on the horizon again?
Jan 20, 2015: 0554: Holy fogged in Golden Gate Batman! Yup... fog fog fog... quite pleasant though, when it comes down to it... the fog horn sounding off in the grey mist...
Jan 21, 2015: 0548 to 0553: Clear morning! and not overly windy... but bitterly cold... brrrr
Jan 22, 2015: 0551 to 0557: This morning? Crisp and clear... bitter cold and cutting wind... to the degree where i almost lost my footing... so many shots ruined by the wind carrying my arm whichever way the wind blows... had to actually put on a jacket, hat, and gloves... man! bitter cold!
Jan 23, 2015: o'dark dark... on the vista point, the weather is much more temperate... and there were two chinese fellows smoking and chatting... you can probably see them on the left hand side of the photo pano...
Jan 26, 2015: 0619 to 0624: chilly crisp morning, foggy in the North Bay but clear on the bay itself. Happy Monday... sigh... but, another week, another dollar i reckon 8)
Jan 27, 2015: 0545 to 0603: Interesting morning... started out feeling rather warm, almost balmy... then the wind kicked in and it was down right chilly... had to first take off my vest then scramble back to the car to put it back on... and i wasn't even out there for that long!! There was a RV parked at the vista point... with the collapsible sides all extended out and the windows dark. What a great place to wake up!! Can't say that i wasn't just a little bit jealous as i stood there gazing at the Bay Bridge lights go through its various images!
Jan 28, 2015: 0517 to 0531: Slightly very much sleep deprived this morning... after a dinner out and a few beers... yes, Maker's may have sneaked in there at some point... not my fault, there was lighter than normal traffic and i can't simply sit at a bar and not order spirits, just not done...
Jan 29, 2015: 0521 to 0537: This morning i was joined by three young men from San Francisco (sounds like a start to a bad porno... i know) who were trying to photograph themselves in front of the Golden Gate Bridge by balancing a smartphone on the hood of their car... i believe they were Indonesian but can't be sure of the language. Finally, after several failed attempts, one of them asked me to photograph the three of them... explaining that they were from LA and are driving back this morning (not sure to what end that knowledge served... but it was at least nice to have conversation)...
Jan 30, 2015: 0529 to 0559: Friday... long week... very little sleep... ah well... There is an RV in the parking lot that has been at the same place for the past four days... today, in the area where i am, i was joined by a vehicle from the Rent a RV service... no doubt the occupants are dreaming of leaping sheep and other assorted delectable slumber fodder... awaiting to awake to the bay in sunrise or full sun as it were. As i was finishing up, in comes two fellers (you can see them in the later photos)... strolled in, i hear a zippo click... and happily, i caught one of them lighting up... then a cruise ship came in and i stayed for more photos...
Jan 12, 2015: 0511: 11th "Spare the air" day for this winter... and the GG Bridge has re-opened... though, as the traffic reports intone, heavy fog so drive carefully! Vista point packed with news vans again... waiting out the fog to take images of the new "zipper" dividers and traffic i am sure... but man, pea soup!
Jan 13, 2015: 0517 to 0559: Hurrah! no "Spare the air" today!!! Vista point damp from early morning/late night fog... SF blanketed by low flying clouds or height aspiring fog... take your pick. Caught a very brightly lit Carnival/Princess Cruise ship coming in the bay... rather over exposed sadly.
Also caught the newly installed "Road Zipper" doing its thing... good morning this!
